First series RFD crab cavity on the road to cryomodule assembly
The first dressed series RF dipole crab cavity, RFD02, has been successfully delivered to TRIUMF, Canada, from JLAB, USA. This begins the cavity’s journey towards cryostating, when it will be integrated – along with the second dressed series cavity expected to arrive still in the first half of 2026 – into the first series cryomodule.

All components for the Cold Powering Systems of the HL-LHC now at CERN
At the end of October 2025, ICAS delivered to CERN the last of the ten complex MgB₂ cable assemblies needed for the Superconducting Links of the Cold Powering Systems that will be used for connecting the magnets to the power converters in the HL-LHC.

Completion of the production of the Nb3Sn cables for MQXFB magnets
The production of all sixty series Nb3Sn superconducting Rutherford cable lengths marks an important milestone for the manufacturing of the Insertion Region MQXFB magnets of the HL-LHC. Each cable unit length is 750 m long whilst ensuring very tight dimension tolerances.

15th HL-LHC Collaboration Meeting gathers 300+ at CERN
The 15th HL-LHC Collaboration Meeting brought together over 300 scientists and engineers from around the globe at CERN, marking a major milestone as the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) Project moves quickly through the production phase and is gearing up for its deployment in the LHC tunnel from July 2026.
