The cryogenic system of the HL-LHC IT String was successfully cooled (without magnets) for the first time to nominal operating temperatures, with stable Helium II conditions (1.9 K) reached on 25th July.

Commissioning operations are planned to continue in the coming days to further assess the operational characteristics of the system.

Many thanks to all those who contributed to the design, production and installation of the cryogenic system and to the preparation and execution of this commissioning phase.
