After the successful validation of four jacks from the first batch produced by UNIOR components d.o.o in Serbia, the second batch of the pre-series production (in total, 19 units) destined for installation in the IT String, has successfully passed the Site Acceptance Tests at the EN-MME main workshop, performed in close collaboration with BE-GM. These tests included static loading, free play and backlash checks as well as actuation torque measurements under load. All units intended for the IT String have been delivered to SM18 and are ready for installation in September 2023, marking the successful completion of the pre-series production of jacks for HL-LHC.

The next phase is the start of series production of 140 jacks needed for the new HL-LHC components (magnets, crab cavity cryomodules and TAXN absorbers) to be installed in the LHC tunnel during Long Shutdown 3.
