The HL-LHC civil engineering works at Point 1 are progressing day by day. The UA17 section shown on the photo is ready for painting. The diameter of this gallery is about 6 m. The two walls at the back-side correspond to the mobile-shielding walls with openings of 1.5-m wide. These walls include reservations for the passage of services, signal cables (on the top) and radio-frequency power cables (on the right). The opening on the right-side of the gallery corresponds to the safety-exit entrance (UPR).
