running teams standing in the rain

The two HiLumi teams after a very rainy race.

The HilLumi Project entered two teams in the CERN Relay Race yesterday. Despite the rain – which, in true Geneva style, decided to only appear for the race – the teams fought gallantly for a spot on the podium.

In the mixed category, the Fast & Luminous team ranked 8th out of 47 teams, with an overall place of 51st out of 167 teams, placing them in the fastest 30%. Just like with the HL upgrades for the LHC, we’ve striven for improvement to an already-excellent accomplishment, beating last year’s time by 25 seconds!

The HiLuminati team faced tough competition in the fancy dress category. They may not have made it to the podium, but they did the project proud, persevering in not-so-streamlined running attire and providing tunes to all through the passing of their musical “flaming” torch.

We had a great time, and thank all participants, organisers, and spectators for a fabulous afternoon!

Go HiLumi!
