This morning, the WP8 leader, Francisco Sánchez Galán, invited the management of the HL-LHC project to visit the VAX mock-up in Building 186.

The VAX (Vacuum Assembly for eXperimental area) modules are composed of different vacuum and instrumentation components that will be hosted on the experimental side of ATLAS and CMS after the TAXS absorber- a high radiation area in the context of the High Luminosity LHC. The VAX mock-up created by HL-LHC WP12 and  installed in Building 186, assists the HL-LHC WP8 team in testing the mechanisms on each module and the new and enhanced remote handling capability.
