HiLumi LHC magnet cryo-assemblies over the halfway mark for qualification
Over half of the new horizontal cryomagnet assemblies required for installation in the High-Luminosity LHC (HiLumi LHC) have been qualified for tunnel deployment, giving confidence in the project’s progress as we speed towards Long Shutdown 3, when major installation works for the upgraded collider will take place.

Half of the US-AUP magnet production at CERN
At the end of October we received two more magnets from Fermilab (CA03 and CA05). With these deliveries, half of the units from the US are at CERN! They join the other three magnets already received: CA01 and CA02 for the IT String, and CA04.

Completion of the production of the Nb3Sn cables for MQXFB magnets
The production of all sixty series Nb3Sn superconducting Rutherford cable lengths marks an important milestone for the manufacturing of the Insertion Region MQXFB magnets of the HL-LHC. Each cable unit length is 750 m long whilst ensuring very tight dimension tolerances.

Third magnet from the USA delivered!
After a long journey from Fermilab in Batavia, Illinois, the third cryo-assembly (named LQXFA04) from the United States Accelerator Upgrade Program (US-AUP) has been successfully delivered to CERN.

Magnet deliveries kicking off the year
In the last couple of months, CERN has received three magnet shipments for the HL-LHC project: the first D1 series cold mass, the sixth series D2 corrector magnet, and the second series US-AUP cryoassembly.
