WP14 bees are in charge of the upgrade of the injection and extraction system to cope with the increase in intensity and brightness of the HL-LHC beams. This means ensuring the reliable operation of the injection, extraction and dilution kickers, guaranteeing the expected machine availability.

In addition, the functionality of the beam-intercepting devices, which are installed at these locations, needs to be improved to protect the machine in the event of a failure of the magnetic elements. They are also crucial in terms of protection.

WP14 bees will chase these goals restlessly and work in association with bees from Russia and WP2.
