On the morning of 15 June, the QUACO quadrupole magnet manufactured by the French company SigmaPhi arrived at CERN.
The magnet is now in B311, where magnetics measurements in one of the two apertures will be carried out to characterise the field performance.
Called MQYY, this magnet is the 90 mm option for the double aperture Nb-Ti quadrupoles Q4, sharing features with the one developed by Elytt Energy.
The production of this magnet stems for the QUACO project, part of the HL-LHC Insertion Regions (IR) Magnets (WP3). The QUACO project is run under the EC Grant Agreement Grant Agreement no. 689359.
