ollowing the HL-LHC Circuit Instrumentation Detailed Design Review held in September 2020, the HL-LHC Magnet Circuit Instrumentation Day 2023 successfully took place on the 20th of June 2023 in the Kjell Johnsen Auditorium at CERN as an in-person meeting.

Successful validation at CERN of the final class 2 DCCT prototype gives the green light to the pre-series phase
The HL-LHC “Class 2” high precision current measurement devices, or DCCTs (direct current current transformers), are used for the accurate current measurement/regulation in the 2kA Inner Triplet Trims and Orbit Correctors power converters.

Successful completion of the IR7 installations of the upgraded crystal collimation system for HL-LHC
In February 2023, two new crystal primary collimators, called TCPCs, were installed in IR7. Crystal collimation will be used as a means to improve the collimation performance for lead ion beams as of 2023.
